The Board

The EAAM recognises the following officers:

President
The President serves as Chairman of the Executive Board, presides all meetings and appoints committees. If the President cannot complete his/her term of office, the immediate Past-President will become to fill the unexpired term.
President-Elect
The President-Elect will serve as President after the President has completed his/her term of office. The President-Elect is responsible for the organisation of the scientific programme of the annual meeting.
Secretary-Treasurer
The Secretary-Treasurer records the minutes of the business meeting, is a custodian of all the Association's properties, collects fees and acts as the contact person for the Association.

The Board of the EAAM consists of the officers mentioned above, as well as the Past-President. It was decided at the Annual General Meeting in Benidorm, Spain, in March 2000, that the Editor of the journal Aquatic Mammals should be invited to the Board meetings although the Editor is not a Board member. The Board can invite others to attend a Board meeting, such as a representative of the host facility of the next Annual Symposium or a professional whose expertise is needed for certain Board decisions.

Information Committee

The Information Committee was formed in 1997, at the EAAM Symposium in Duisburg, Germany. The tasks of this committee include:

  • Compiling and editing the EAAM Newsletter
  • Development and maintenance of the EAAM Web site and other Internet-related activities

The Information Committee reports to the Secretary for Newsletter related issues and to the Board for the Internet related activities.
